EMOT is the first private specialist hospital in Izmir in all categories and the first private specialist hospital in hand and microsurgery in Turkey.

These two professors - who were both chief assistants at BUCA TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL at that time - started a new path together to do hand surgeries and to establish a microsurgery center. For this establishment; Specialist Physical Therapist Firdevs KUL (who resigned from her job in USA for this project ) and Op. Dr. Fuat OZERKAN joined the team. EMOT is the first private specialist hospital in Izmir in all categories and the first private specialist hospital in hand and microsurgery in Turkey.

The first replantation was applied by Prof. Dr. Arslan Bora in 1986 at BUCA TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL in Izmir. Many of the hand surgeries and microsurgery applications/operations were done at both BUCA TRAINING AND RESEARCH HOSPITAL and at the private hospitals under the category of hand surgery.With the guidance of the experiences of these operations and also with Prof. Dr. Arslan BORA’s leadership efforts; the future plans of the hospital project were completed, the structural problems were solved and finally the hospital project took place into reality. Many of the founders of the the hospital were also emloyees in the same time and also the team was supported by many other volunteer professors and friends. As a result; by these valuable attempts and supports, EMOT – the first private specialist hospital in Izmir (in all categories) and the first private specialist hospital in hand and micro surgery in Turkey – was established in 1991 in Izmir for a healthier life. In 1993, Assoc. Prof. MD. Ibrahim KAPLAN and Assoc. Prof. MD. Yalcin ADEMOGLU joined the team and reinforced the abilities of the hospital on the profession.

EMOT is Expanding

In 1999, number of the the operation rooms and the beds were increased. The specialist medical team was strengthen with the new proficient medical doctors. EMOT,which was also expanded physically, became the prominent microsurgery and traumatology emergency center in the territory. EMOT’s average annual number of the operations had reached up to 3000, and the number of outpatient clinics had reached up to 10.000. With all of these mentioned facts, EMOT’s fast progress became appreciable in the territory and in the whole country.
